Telemann: Brockes-Passion TWV 5:1:IV. Jesu Verhör Vor Dem Hohen Rat; Judas Verzweiflung; Reue Und Tod dir. By R.Pichon

The fourth movement of the Passion depicts Jesus before his repentance and death, and the despair of Judas.

Georg Philipp Telemann's Oratorio shows Jesus coming before the High Priests to hear his sentence. As in the Bible, Jesus denies all charges, but admits to being "the Son of God". These blasphemous words condemn him to death, while Judas looks on in despair, crying, "What have I done, cursed that I am! [...] My pain is unmatched, my torment infinite!"
