Bruno Fontaine: François de Roubaix Suite (Le Vieux Fusil, Dernier Domicile connu)
The Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France performs the "François de Roubaix" suite from the films "Le Vieux Fusil" and "Dernier Domicile connu", arranged and conducted by Bruno Fontaine. Excerpt from the concert recorded live on 11 January from the Radio France Auditorium.
The evening dedicated to French cinematic music must obviously pay homage to one of its greatest figures, François de Roubaix, with his use of synthesisers and long motionless tracks with celestial timbres, and his melodies ginned by a keyboard with dated stamps. Another film, another style, such as the long and nail-biting chase sequence in José Giovanni's Dernier Domicile connu, without forgetting the poignant music of Robert Enrico's Vieux Fusil, for which François de Roubaix received posthumously in 1976 the César award for best music.
