Paul Misraki: Mr Arkadin (Orson Welles, 1956)

Duration : 6 minutes

The Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France performs a musical excerpt from the film "Mr Akadin" by Orson Welles, composed by Paul Misraki, arranged for orchestra and conducted by Bruno Fontaine. Excerpt from the concert recorded live on 11 January from the Radio France Auditorium.

Bruno Fontaine, composer and arranger of film music, constantly faces throughout his research issues related to sources, often due to the negligence by the publishers, and even the composers themselves, little worried about a material initially intended for a single recording. Fortunately, happy coincidences occasionally reward his efforts, such as the rediscovery of a piano score and orchestrated sketches from Mr Arkadin, Orson Welles's 1956 film, in the archives of composer Paul Misraki, which he was able to transform into an arrangement for orchestra.
