Marc-Antoine Charpentier: Prelude In D Minor H 510 By Les Arts Florissants
A brief moment of reflection
Having studied under the tutelage of Giacomo Carissimi in Rome for three years, Marc-Antoine Charpentier developed his strong aptitude for composing. The introductory strings to this work set a subdued mood through which a harpsichord plays quietly in the background. A short work intended to encourage reflection, it allows a brief pause for thought in one’s day. Allow some time to pause and hear the genius of Marc-Antoine Charpentier performed by ensemble Les Arts Florissants in Abbaye de Saint Michel en Thiérarche.
