Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne: Phaedra By Le Concert de la Loge Conducted By Julien Chauvin
A condensed form of the original work.
When Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne composed his first lyrical tragedies in 1780, he imagined the famous soprano Saint-Huberty singing them, as she had an extremely flamboyant style which he adored. Julien Chauvin conducts this work in a condensed format with four singers. Chauvin masterfully puts to music the tensions and dramas at stake in this mythical tragedy.
