Ignace-Joseph Pleyel: Concerto In C Major With Emmanuel Pahud Playing Flute
A fluttering flute feature
Ignace-Joseph Pleyel was just over a decade senior to a young Ludwig van Beethoven, with whom he shared Joseph Haydn as a mentor. With excellent use of the full orchestral register, Pleyel supplies the lucky solo flautist with a wonderful accompaniment. Having made pianos for a living, it’s no wonder that Pleyel was also a talented builder of musical scores! Listen here to Haydn’s second pupil at work.
