György Ligeti: Piano Study No. 6 "Autumn in Warsaw", By Guillaume Vincent
A study in the tradition of Chopin, Liszt and Debussy, composed in 1985.
Coming from Book 1 of Ligeti's piano studies, this sixth study is entitled Autumn in Warsaw. György Ligeti is inspired here not only by the eponymous festival, but also to the turmoil that his friends were going through in the Polish People's Republic. In the 1980s, Soviet tutelage required the introduction of martial law against Solidarność. Like the Polish situation, the study for piano n ° 6 annotated presto cantabile, molto ritmico e flessibile concludes gravely.
