Federico Mompou: Música Callada No. 15 By Guillaume Coppola
A work from the “Silent Music” series
Capturing and distilling the unbridled gleefulness of childhood, Federico Mompou’s life work found influences in the harmonies of Ravel, Scriabin, Debussy and Chopin. The collective length of Mompou’s Música Calladas is, in total, over an hour long. One might think it would be difficult to maintain the listener’s attention for this long, but Mompou’s individual pieces have many varied parts which give different experiences to the listener along the way.
