Born on the 16th April 1893 in Barcelona, Federico Mompou began his musical formation as a pianist in Catalonia before moving to Paris where he devoted his career to composition wherein his contributed is renowned for its brevity and delicate attributes. With strong impressionist inspirations to his work, Mompou creates a focused piece, which stays rhythmically similar all the way throughout the song. Miniaturist in style, the music has a mellow and curious feel.
