Enrique Granados: Danse espagnole (Laurenceau / Ducros)
Geneviève Laurenceau (violin) et Jérôme Ducros (piano) perform Enrique Granados's "Danse espagnole". Concert recorded live on 10 March 2019 at the Studio 104 at Radio France, in Paris.
The Danzas espanolas are to \1 what the Suite espagnole is to \1: a musical description of the Spanish regions. And yet, the composer does not use any musical themes of Spanish folklore, but rather a description of the colours and perfumes that the different regions bring to mind. Amongst the 12 dances, the fifth Andaluza, played andantino quasi allegretto is one of the most well-known. Written for piano solo, the work has often been transcribed, including for violin and piano by Fritz Kreisler.
