Claude Debussy: Claire De Lune By Guillaume Coppola
A work of genius for piano
Born on the 22nd August 1862 in Saint-Germain-en-Laye in the Seine-et-Oise department on the outskirts of Paris. A leading figure of the musical Impressionists (a title he disliked), Debussy was the eldest of five children. Perhaps one of the most loved works of music of all time, Debussy’s Clair de Lune shows exactly how impressionist writing can conjure the most striking images in the mind, even though the melody is hidden within a mesmerising mesh of chords.
