Like Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin and Debussy, the compositional style of Vivaldi is one which is instantly recognisable. The lightning-speed bowing, all beautifully harmonised is seen throughout the career of the great composer.
This concert begins with an archetypal example of this: Vivaldi’s Concerto Ripieno in C Major RV 114. Following this is Credo in E Minor RV 591. Departing slightly from Vivaldi’s typical style is the Magnificat in G minor RV 610. After this, the Concerto in A minor "L’Estro Armonico” Op. 3 No. 8 is heard - bringing back string work which would tire even the most accomplished player. Finally, the renowned Gloria in D Major RV 589 closes the concert with chants of “Gloria in excelsis Deo!” Observe the upcoming talent from the Paris Conservatoire in action as they wow you with these Baroque classics.
