With the wonderful Soprano Claire Lefilliâtre and ensemble L’Entretien des Muses, France Musique presents Salve Regina and other works in this special festive concert. The music is a mix of Baroque, Renaissance and Classical works by some of the foremost composers of the eras. The concert opens with the famous Salve Regina in C Minor by Jean-Baptiste Pergolese, with a smaller string orchestra and soprano voice. Second, Pastorale by Johann Heinrich Schmelzer is performed, followed by Ah! Che Troppo Ineguali HWV 230 Georg Friedrich Handel, which translates as Ah! The injustice! Dietrich Buxtehude’s O dulcis Jesu BuxWV 83 Dietrich Buxtehude is performed afterwards, after which we hear Concerto grosso in G Minor Op. 6 No. 8 by Arcangelo Corelli. Finally, Antonio Vivaldi’s work, Nulla in mundo pax sincera RV 630 closes the concert. Enjoy these works from across three eras of musical history.
