Rossini, Brahms, Gounod, Hersant... by the Radio France Choir

To mark its 70th anniversary, the Radio France Choir performs works by Rossini, Brahlms, Gounod, and Hersant… Recorded on 7 April 2018 at the Auditorium of Radio France (Paris).

A journey through the choral music of the last centuries with Sofi Jeannin, Nicolas Fink, Alberto Malazzi,Lionel Sow and the Radio France Choir. Together they perform a variety ofa cappellaworks includingFünf Gesänge by Johannes Brahms, "La Blanche Neige" and "Marie", extracts from Sept Chansons by Francis Poulenc, "La Ronde" from Maurice Ravel’s Trois Chansons, and the Due cori di Michelangelo Buonarroti il giovane by Italian composer Luigi Dallapiccola

Also performed are Les Djinns by Gabriel Fauré, and Gioacchino Rossini’s "I Gondolieri", inaugural work from the Sins of Old Age. Finally, Lionel Sow conducts two opera extracts, the “Choeur de la Kermesse” from Gounod’s Faust, and “Les voici, voici la quadrille” from Bizet’s Carmen
