Born in 1969 in Argentina, Nelson Goerner learned piano with the famous Jorge Garruba, later with Juan Carlos Arabian and Carmen Scalcione at the National Conservatory of Music in Buenos Aires, At age 11, he gave his first recital. Six years later, he won the First Prize at the Franz Liszt Competition in Buenos Aires. With the support of Martha Argerich, he obtained a scholarship that opened the door to the Geneva Conservatory and where in September 1990, he won the First Prize of the Geneva Competition. Since then he has performed with the world’s greatest orchestras - the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of French-speaking Switzerland, Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie and NHK of Tokyo under the direction of esteemed conductors such as Emmanuel Krivine, Neeme Järvi, Ivor Bolton and Fabio Luisi.
This concert features Chopin's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 1 in E minor opus 11 and Mozart’s Symphony No. 35 in D major K. 385. Enjoy this concert by one of the world’s greats.
