Blondeau and Schoeller By The Ensemble Intercontemporain conducted by Matthias Pintscher

At the Philharmonie de Paris on June 9, 2017, the Ensemble Intercontemporain took to the stage to perform Namenlosen by Julia Blondeau and Hermès V by Philippe Schoeller as part of ManiFeste 2017 IRCAM Festival.

Salle des concerts, Philharmonie, Paris

This concert displays great virtuosity in the interpretation of atypical works by Ensemble Intercontemporain, plunging the audience into an holophonic experience, conducted by Matthias Pintscher. They open this with Namenlosen, a monumental work written for four soloists scattered throughout the concert hall. The trumpet player is perched on the background balcony and the oboist stands on the garden side’s balcony, the flutist is at the back of the stage while the violist plays on the scene’s edge on the courtyard’s side. In the centre of the stage is an electronic soundboard. This distance between all musicians create an incredible wall of noise, penetrating the audience from all angles. Hermès V by Philippe Schoeller follows, in a night full of surprises.
