Born in Germany in 1970, Lars Vogt has since established himself as one of the great musicians of his generation. After winning the 2nd Prize of the prestigious Leeds International Competition Leeds in 1990, he has led a brilliant twenty-five year career. Having performed Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms, Grieg, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, and the dazzling Lutoslawski concerto, he has recorded some of the great works for piano. Vogt has also played under the baton of the world’s greatest conductors, including Claudio Abbado, Daniel Harding, Mariss Jansons, Paavo Jarvi, Andris Nelsons, Sir Simon Rattle and Robin Ticciati, with orchestras such as the Wiener Philharmoniker, the Staatskapelle Dresden, the Philharmonics of London and New York, the Orchestra of Paris, the Boston Symphony and the Berlin Philharmonic, with which he has maintained a privileged relationship since 2003.
This concert features Beethoven's Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 1 in C Major Op. 15 and the Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 in B Flat Major Op. 19. Hear one of the world’s piano greats at work.
